Citizens United To Protect The Maurice River - Garden Experience: Seed Collection at WheatonArts / 10-9-25

In this month's Garden Experience, attendees will be collecting seeds from the native plants at WheatonArts's Pollinator Oasis Gardens. The seeds will be properly stored for future germination sessions for volunteers to grow them and plant them as seedlings back into the downtown gardens.

For native plant gardens, planting seedlings is recommended over direct sowing because native seeds often have complex germination requirements. Seedlings have passed the delicate germination stage which lowers the risk of failure from pests, poor soil conditions, or unsuccessful germination that can occur when planting directly from seeds. Growing seedlings results in stronger plants with better disease resistance.

Please wear clothes you will be comfortable in being outdoors. Wearing sunscreen and a hat are recommended.
