Stockton University- Seaview Plein Air Invitational / 10-19-25

The Seaview Plein Air Invitational will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the historic Seaview Resort in Galloway, New Jersey. This juried, one-day outdoor art event brings together talented regional artists to capture the natural beauty of the Seaview property through painting and drawing, all created on site.

The Invitational serves not only as a celebration of artistic excellence but also as a fundraiser to support student scholarships at Stockton University and Atlantic Cape Community College (ACCC). Artists are invited to apply for participation, with a limited number of spots available. Two complimentary spaces will be reserved—one for a student from Stockton and one for a student from ACCC.

All submitted work must be created in plein air during the event using traditional drawing or painting mediums. A diverse panel of judges, including regional art professionals and a special celebrity guest, will evaluate the completed pieces. The top twelve works will be exhibited in rotation at the Seaview Gallery following the event.

The day begins with artist check-in and canvas stamping at 8:30 am followed by painting from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. At the close of the painting period, artists will submit their work for exhibition and judging. The event concludes with an awards reception featuring live music and refreshments at 3:30 pm. Guests are welcome to attend the exhibition and enjoy the afternoon celebration. Artists may retrieve their work at the end of the event or choose to have it displayed in the gallery.

Awards will be presented in several categories, including Best of Show ($1,000), Second Place ($750), Third Place ($500), Honorable Mention ($100), and the Noyes Collection Purchase Award ($1,000). Additionally, the Seaview Prize will grant one artist an overnight stay at the resort with breakfast included. The top twelve works selected by the jury will be featured in the Seaview Gallery in the weeks following the event.

To apply, artists must submit 2–3 recent images of their artwork (at least one landscape), along with a headshot. Only one entry per artist is allowed, and all images should be submitted in JPEG format between 800KB and 5MB. A link to the application form and payment portal will be made available soon.

The Invitational will be well supported logistically. Artists will receive welcome packets that include campus maps, a dining guide, and hotel information. Designated painting areas will be clearly marked with sponsor signage. A professional photographer and videographer will be on site to document the day. Marketing for the event includes save-the-date cards, posters, postcards, and digital outreach through print, email, and social media platforms. Sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels—Hole in One, Eagle, and Birdie—with each level receiving customized promotional benefits. Sponsors will be recognized in printed materials, on-site signage, and online promotions. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Absecon Cultural Arts Alliance as well as student scholarships at Stockton and ACCC, making this both a celebration of the arts and a meaningful community contribution.
